Gearing Up For The Planting Season

Gearing Up For The Planting Season

Posted: August 14, 2019 | By:

Most of you are likely itching to get into the field and put the new crop in the ground. But gearing up for the planting season can and should start right now in order to avoid headaches in the field.

Now is the time to marry up your tractor and planter—and make sure all the hookups are correct and field-ready.  We’re not just talking hoses and hydraulics. You’ll want to double-check all data connections and make sure your prescription data is accurate and ready to roll as well.

Most of you are fully equipped to handle these pre-planting procedures yourself, but if you need advice or assistance, you local 21st Century Equipment service technicians and ISG experts are just a phone call away.

You invest no small sum in the equipment and technology on your farm.   And you probably spend a good deal of time doing your research, negotiating price and deciding what you want to buy.

But once that equipment is on your place, you need confidence that it is going to perform when you need it to.  Many of our customers sign up for our Priority Service Program, which involves a thorough inspection of all enrolled equipment from tractors to combines to planters to tillage to sprayers.  We’ll present you with a full report and an estimate for any necessary repairs.  It’s the best way to make sure your equipment is at its best when it’s time to hit the field.

While there are discounts on trucking available during the standard pre-winter sign-up, you can enroll in our Priority Service Program any time during the year.   For example, we service a number of air seeders in the summer, before fall wheat planting.

Our Parts On-Site service is another time-saver when the season is in full swing.  We’ll install a fully stocked parts cabinet right in your shop.  One of our parts professionals will stock the cabinet with the parts you are most likely to need based on the season and the type of equipment you own—belts, filters, fittings, fasteners, lubricants, etc.

We’ll make periodic visits to your farm to check the inventory and keep your cabinet up to date.   This service can save hours of time driving into town or waiting for a critical part to arrive on your farm.

At 21st Century Equipment, we’re committed to providing you with the equipment and technology you need to be the best farmer you can be.  But we’re even more committed to ensuring that your investment stays on the job—doing what it’s supposed to do—well after it leaves our dealership.
